Shaquille O'Neal

Shaquille O’Neal is an important person who played basketball in the NBA for 19 years.  Shaq was born in Newark, New Jersey, on March 6, 1972. He is famous because he is one of the tallest people in basketball at 7 feet and 1 inch and 325 pounds. He is one of the legends of basketball and is an MVP 3 different times. Shaq helps others through the Shaquille O’ Neal Foundation, and he also works with the Boys and Girls Club of America.  Shaq now works as a DJ called DJ Diesel.

Sweet Tea

One of our drinks is sweet tea. This tea is made with black tea and a whole lot of sugar. This tea is often consumed in the South of the United States. It was created after the Civil War and was looked at as an affordable luxury drink because it was only for rich people in the 20th century. Today, it is served to welcome people to friends’ homes. Sweet tea is very sweet and very popular.

Peach

One ingredient in our drink is peach. This is a fruit that grows on a tree. People use it to make cobblers, pies, and other fruit pastries and desserts. Peach trees grow easily in the south, and so peaches were not expensive. During slavery, peach trees were owned by white plantation owners, and black people were not able to get them easily. After the Civil War, people in Georgia depended on the knowledge of people who used to be slaves to help handle peaches because they were experts. Today, the peach cobbler symbolizes resilience. We chose this ingredient because it tastes sweet.
